Adler Planetarium: The Universe: A Walk Through Space and Time
The Universe: A Walk through Space and Time, a new exhibit for 2012 at the Adler Planetarium is born.
In early 2012 JRLX Was approached by Brian Dressel, President of M1 Interactive and Lighting Designer Eric Price who had just begun working on the initial concepts for the Adler Planetarium’s new cosmology gallery exhibit: The Universe: A Walk Through Space and Time.
JRLX and Jason Reberski were invaluable in helping to specify and provide a lighting and control system that was on-budget and achieved the customer’s vision; as well as provide programming support for our project: The Universe: A Walk Through Space and Time at Chicago’s Adler Planetarium”. We highly recommend them.
Brian Dressel | President
M1 Interactive
The M1 Interactive team including LD Eric Price set out to provide a complete project design and installation of a multimedia and lighting installation that was both dramatically immersive and energy-efficient.
JRLX President Jason Reberski consulted on and provided a lighting system for the fabric tunnel entrance, floor “graze” lighting, entrance sculpture, and a centralized control system that included 40+ Elation ELED RGBW Strip Fixtures, Techni-Lux LED RGBW PAR fixtures, RGB LED Linear Tape, and a HOG 3 PC Timecode-Triggered Control System.
Eric Price oversaw the physical installation and creative direction of the lighting for the project and both Price and Reberski contributed to the programming and integration at the end of the project.
Since summer of 2012 The Universe: A Walk Through Space and Time has delighted thousands of museum-goers and will continue to do so well into the future.
